Dalbergia cearensis,[1] llamáu comúnmente palisandro o palu violeta, ye un pequeñu árbol perteneciente a la familia de les fabacees nativu de los estaos brasilanos de la Caatinga y la Matu Atlánticu.[2] (Bahia, Ceará, Paraíba, Pernambuco y Piauí.[3])

Dalgunos denominar «palisandro», pero nun tien de confundir se col palisandro africanu (Guibourtia ehie).

Propiedaes

Ye bultable por causar reacción alérxica a suxetos sensibles, pola presencia de quinones sensibilizantes na madera.[ensin referencies]

La madera d'esti árbol llamada "madera real", usar pa moblería clásica, palos de billar (por casu, los de la marca londinense John Parris). Ye purpúrea, con fines y numberoses manches negres. El so pesu específicu ye de 980 a 1100 kg/. Algama de 15 a 20 m d'altor.[ensin referencies]
