Die Muses (Grieks: οι μούσες) was in die Griekse mitologie nege nimfe wat die kunste verpersoonlik en as inspirasie vir die skeppingsproses gedien het. Hulle is beskou as die bron van kennis wat deur eeue heen mondelings oorvertel is en word ook in die moderne tyd gebruik om artistieke inspirasie aan te dui.

Volgens Hesiodus se Teogonie (7de eeu v.C.) was hulle die dogters van Zeus en Mnemosune, die godin van geheue. Volgens ander mites is hulle die dogters van die oergode Uranos en Gaia, of soms selfs van Harmonia (die dogter van Afrodite) en Ares.

Die nege muses is Kalliope (epiese digkuns), Klio (geskiedenis), Erato (liriese digkuns), Euterpê (musiek), Melpomene (tragedie), Polumnia (korale digkuns), Terpsichore (dans), Talia (komedie) en Urania (astronomie).
