Die Kukmoeras is ’n landbouterrein in die Wahgivallei van die hoogland van Nieu-Guinee. Die moeras het tot ’n voormalige meerbekken ontwikkel en is gevul met afsettings van watervervoerde materiaal. Argeologiese bewyse is hier gevind vir vroeë landboudreineringstelsels vanaf omtrent 9 000 jaar gelede. Dit sluit dreineringslote in waarmee die gebied in ’n grasland omgeskakel is. Die gewas taro is hier gekweek.

Tydens opgrawings van die dreineringstelsels is artefakte ontdek soos houtstokke vir grawe, ’n meulsteen en ander klein items. Bewyse is ook gevind vir die kweek van piesangs en suikerriet vanaf sowat 6 900 tot 6 400 jaar gelede.

Die Kukmoeras is in 2008 tot ’n Unesco-wêrelderfenisgebied verklaar. Dit was een van die plekke in die wêreld waar mense onafhanklik landbou begin ontwikkel het.
