Elektronvangs is 'n proses wat onstabiele atome ondergaan om na 'n stabieler vorm te verander. Tydens elektronvangs word 'n elektron in 'n atoom se binnemantel in die kern ingetrek waar dit verbind met 'n proton om 'n neutron en 'n neutrino te vorm. Die neutrino word uit die kern van die atoom uitgewerp.

Wanneer 'n atoom 'n proton verloor tydens elektronvangs, verander dit van die een element na 'n ander. Byvoorbeeld, na elektronvangs, word 'n koolstofatoom (met 6 protone) 'n booratoom (met 5 protone).

Hoewel die aantal protone en neutrone in 'n atoom se kern verander tydens elektronvangs, bly die totale aantal nukleone (protone + neutrone) dieselfde.

Elektronvangs staan ook bekend as K-vangs omdat die gevange elektron meestal afkomstig is van die atoom se K-mantel.
