The post boost control system (PBCS) is made up of the propulsion system rocket engine (PRSE) and missile guidance system (MGS) and goes onto one of the 150 Minuteman III ICBM in the missile field. The missile guidance system was the second of three Minuteman III components modernized as part of the $6 billion Minuteman III modernization program. This portion of Minuteman III modernization was named guidance replacement program (GRP). The Minuteman propulsion system was replaced in 2005, and a safety enhanced reentry vehicle from the deactivated Peacekeeper will be installed before 2011 to finish Minuteman III modernization.
