A Marine posts security as his platoon halts during a field training exercise here March 8. Marines from 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force and members from 4th Infantry Regiment, 5th Brigade, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force conducted a bilateral FTX during exercise Forest Light 12-2. The purpose of Forest Light 12-2 is to enhance the interoperability of Marines and JGSDF members while increasing individual and unit readiness in a cold weather environment.
