背景

在Wanna One活動結束後，姜丹尼爾因為和經紀公司LM娛樂發生合約糾紛，導致演藝活動中止。2019年5月10日法院作出「姜丹尼爾可以進行單獨演藝活動」的判決，不久，姜丹尼爾宣布成立一人經紀公司，並預計在同年7月個人出道[2]。

《Color on Me》於2019年7月25日推出[3]，為了宣傳新專輯，姜丹尼爾舉辦紀念巡迴[4]。

《Color on Me》共收錄5首歌[5]，專輯製作人為Divine Channel的代表製作人Kei Lim（朝鲜语：임광욱）[6]，姜丹尼爾參與了〈Intro〉之外的歌詞創作。〈I HOPE〉找來了「Flow Blow」共同創造[5]。舞蹈方面，請來曾參與柯兰尼、克里斯·布朗舞蹈的舞蹈家Antonie[6]。

商業成績

專輯《Color on Me》從16日開放預購，截止至23日共預售出45萬張[7][8]。而根據Hanteo的統計，專輯在發售當天售出超過28萬張[9]，並以34萬2218張的銷量紀錄成為Hanteo Chart專輯日榜的冠軍[10]。而專輯首週銷量46萬6701張的紀錄更是個人歌手的最高首周銷售紀錄[11][12]。
