鏈環

交換代數中,一個交換環 被稱作鏈環,若且唯若對任何一對素理想

任何嚴格遞增的素理想鏈

皆包含於一個從 的有限長極大鏈,而且此極大鏈的長度僅依賴於 。因此我們有一個從素理想對 的映射。在代數幾何上,此條件能理解為維度可明確定義。

一個環被稱為泛鏈環,若且唯若其上的任何有限生成代數都是鏈環。

幾乎所有代數幾何中出現的諾特環都是泛鏈環,包括以下例子:

  • 完備諾特局部環
  • 戴德金環
  • Cohen-Macaulay 環
  • 泛鏈環的局部化仍為泛鏈環

非泛鏈環甚難構造。第一個例子由永田雅宜於1956年造出,這是個諾特局部整環,它是鏈環而非泛鏈環(見參考文獻 Local Rings 第 203 頁例 2)。
