明朝《山海經圖》的繪像

赤鱬是《山海经.南山经》[註 1]中記載的一种人面鱼身的动物，人面，声音像鸳鸯，又如小孩的叫聲，吃了可以治病，據載有兩種形象：人面魚身或魚行，非人面。
