粒子園
在粒子物理學上，粒子園（particle zoo）[1][2]一詞是一個用以形容數量相對龐大的基本粒子的單詞，學界藉由將這現象與動物園中多樣的動物相比較而創造此詞。
在粒子物理學的歷史上，在1960年代後期時粒子物理學曾被人認為是一個高度令人困惑的領域。在人們發現夸克前，學界就已發現上百種的強相互作用粒子（強子），並認為這些粒子都是基本粒子；然而之後發現說這些粒子不是基本粒子，而是由夸克構成的複合粒子。現今人們將一般認為是基本粒子的粒子的集合給稱為標準模型，而標準模型包含了夸克、輕子和玻色子。
「粒子園」一詞最早由罗伯特·奥本海默於1956年在VI 罗切斯特国际高能物理大会上提出或推廣。[3]
