生成式人工智慧（英語：Generative artificial intelligence，或稱Generative AI、生成式AI、產生式AI）是一種人工智能系統，能夠產生文字、圖像或其他媒體以回應提示工程[1][2]，比如ChatGPT。產生模型學習輸入數據的模式和結構，然後產生與訓練數據相似但具有一定程度新穎性的新內容，而不僅僅是分類或預測數據[3]。用於處理生成式人工智慧的最突出框架包括生成对抗网络和基于转换器的生成式预训练模型[4][5]。
模态
生成式人工智能系统是通过将无监督或自监督机器学习应用于数据集来构建的。生成式人工智能系统的功能取决于所使用的数据集的模式或类型。生成式人工智能可以是单模态的，也可以是多模态的；单模态系统仅接受一种类型的输入，而多模态系统可以接受多种类型的输入。[6] 例如，OpenAI 的 GPT-4 的一种版本接受文本和图像输入。[7]
