波兰教育义务教育教育在波兰开始六岁起强制的“0”的接收级（波兰 zerówka或klasa 0，字面上0年）。在7岁时，孩子们开始上小学一年级（波兰 szkoła podstawowa），持续8年（6至2017年），并完成考试。之后，到2017年，学生已加入强制性初中三年（初中教育），最后再参加另一项必修考试。[1]

有对高中教育的几个备选方案以后，最常见的是四（三级至2017年）年的liceum或五（4至2017年）年中technikum。两者都以成熟考试结束（matura，类似于法语baccalauréat），可能会有几种形式的高等教育，导致学士学位：licencjat或inżynier（波兰博洛尼亚进程第一周期资格），硕士：magister（波兰博洛尼亚）处理第二周期资格）并最终获得博士学位：doktor（波兰博洛尼亚进程）第三周期资格）。波兰的教育体系允许连续22年的不间断学校教育。[6]
