巴林的官方宗教是伊斯蘭教，大部分巴林公民是穆斯林，佔巴林總人口70.2％。巴林也有大約1000名基督徒公民[1] 和大約40名猶太裔公民[2]。巴林穆斯林屬於什葉派和遜尼派。遜尼派穆斯林沒有官方統計的數字，但什葉派佔巴林穆斯林人口的60-70％。[3][4]巴林的外籍人士絕大多數來自南亞和其他鄰近的阿拉伯國家，在2010年佔巴林人口的54％；其中，45％是穆斯林，55％為非穆斯林，包括來自南印度的基督徒（天主教、基督新教、敘利亞東方正教會和馬爾托馬敘利亞教會）、印度教徒、巴哈伊教徒、佛教徒和錫克教徒。[5]
