尺蛾科學名Geometridae),又名尺蠖蛾科[1],是鱗翅目尺蛾總科之下的其中一個有龐大成員的科,下計有3.5萬個物種[2]。幼蟲叫尺蠖,又名蝍𧑙(音同“即蹴”)。

語源

尺蛾科的學名Geometridae來自希臘語,由「大地」(γη 或 γαια)與「量度」(μέτρων)組成,因為其幼蟲的移動形態就好像在丈量一樣[2]
