单倍群N-M231是一个Y染色体DNA单倍群,距今兩萬至三萬年前有共同祖先,与单倍群O共同源自单倍群NO(四萬~五萬年共祖),主要分布于欧亚大陆最北部的烏拉爾人雅庫特人尤卡吉尔人等,推測於舊石器時代起源于东亚[6][7]

N的分支N1a1a (M178)認為是烏拉爾語系的代表性基因,在芬蘭人薩米人中有較高的占比。在芬蘭人中佔比60%,拉脫維亞人占比40%。(Derenko 2007 and Lappalainen 2008)

N1a與N2在高頻分布於現代部分西伯利亞人中,N1a在中國與韓國亦有分布。

N1b主要分布於中國韓國西藏藏緬語人群。
