下胚層（Hypoblast）是指在胚胎發育過程中，位於二胚層胚盤的上胚層（Epiblast）相對下方的一群立方形細胞。在小鼠胚胎發育過程中，下胚層於大約於第4.5天出現，在人胚胎發育過程中則是在第7天出現。下胚層的細胞最後並不會發育爲成體的組織，外胚層、中胚層、內胚層均是由上胚層演化而來。不過，下胚層細胞參與了一些胚胎外的過程，比如形成胚外中胚層[1][2][3][4]。
