清濁音
清音（voiceless）同濁音（voiced）係指一吓 phone「有冇涉及聲帶嘅振動」，冇嘅話吓聲就算係清音，有嘅話吓聲就算係濁音。一吓聲係清音定濁音，可以簡單噉用手嚟感覺－個人將隻手擺喺自己喉核個位，佢發嗰個音係濁音嘅話，佢隻手會感受到自己喉部有振動。
例如英文當中嘅 [s] 就係清音而 [z] 就係濁音[1][2]。
