大東群島（粵音：daai6 dung1 kwan4 dou2；沖繩話：大東島，琉球字頭：ウフアガリジマ，羅馬字：Uhu-agari zima；日文：

呢啲島本來都係無人島來嘅，明治時期先至有人從日本其他地方移民過去，開拓出來。[1][2]
「大東群島」喺琉球話嘅意思係「東之涯、極東」噉解。雖然而家呢個群島嘅英文名係用日文羅馬字嘅講法做「Daito Islands」，不過喺舊時西方文獻重用遞個名「Borodino Islands」，19世紀時歐洲各國都積極探險，1820年時呢個群島由俄國發現，而安個噉嘅名佢。

沖大東島係無人島，雖然離南大東島近，不過係屬北大東村管嘅。
