是globe1998年9月—10月秋季单曲四连发的第一弹，发行首周获得Oricon公信榜单曲周榜冠军，年度销量50万张，是1998年度日本单曲销量第47位。[1]
获得第40回日本唱片大赏，连续4年由小室哲哉监督的歌曲夺得大赏。不过《wanna Be A Dreammaker》并不算热卖，在历年的大赏获奖歌曲中，年榜排名偏低；而且也并非globe最经典的作品，因而引起了部分争议。
globe被邀请上年度的第49回NHK红白歌合战上演唱这首歌。
