2023年世界杯橄榄球赛为第10届世界杯橄榄球赛，主办国为法国，2023年同时也是传说中威廉·韦伯·艾利斯发明橄榄球运动的200周年。
主办权
[编辑]继2015年日本获得主办权后，世界橄协决定2015年5月14日至同年6月15日受理2023年主办权申请程序，至2016年7月3日公布候选名单，有意愿角逐本届主办权的国家有：
南非
爱尔兰- 法国
意大利(2016年9月26日宣布放弃)

南非曾于1995年主办第3届世界杯橄榄球赛，并曾争取2011、2015及2019年争取主办权，但都以失败作收。[1][2]南非政府承诺
