文字编辑（英语：TextEdit）是一款简易开源的文字处理器以及文件编辑器，首次出现在NeXT、NEXTSTEP和OPENSTEP系统上。目前除了支持苹果公司（Apple Inc.）开发的Mac OS X操作系统，另外以GNUstep的形式存在unix兼容操作系统上，像是Linux。
文字编辑取代了早期麦金塔电脑上的SimpleText。文字编辑可读取的文件格式包括Rich Text Format、Rich Text Format Directory以及纯文字文件。
原始码
文字编辑的原始码作为macOS集成开发环境（IDE）Xcode文档的一部分。 在互联网上，可以在Apple的Mac开发人员库中找到文字编辑的原始码。[1]以下引用来自原始码中包含的新的BSD兼容许可证文本的特征部分：
