NGC 1964是位于天兔座的棒旋星系，距离地球约6500万光年。该星系盘面直径约10万光年，并且中心的超重黑洞质量约为2.5 × 107 M☉[3]。NGC 1964有两个位于高表面亮度的盘面内的紧密缠绕的内侧旋臂，另有两个发源自内侧环结构附近，结构较松散的外侧旋臂。而外侧旋臂有少许小范围的H II区存在[4]。
NGC 1964是NGC 1964星系群的主要成员星系，该星系群还包含了NGC 1979、IC 2130和IC 2137[5]。
