GNOME Shell，是GNOME桌面环境3.0及其后续版本中的核心用户界面，取代了GNOME 2.0版本中的GNOME Panel与其他相关程序。GNOME shell于2011年4月6日发布。GNOME shell提供窗口切换、加载应用程式等基本功能。GNOME Shell使用mutter作为窗口管理器，Clutter工具箱提供视觉特效与硬件加速。
