South China Sea (June 7, 2004) - With the U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer USS Russell (DDG 59) on the horizon, a Republic of Singapore Air Force Super Puma helicopter takes off from the flight deck of the Republic of Singapore Ship (RSS) Resolution (LST 208) during Singapore's phase of Exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2004. CARAT 2004 is a regularly scheduled series of bilateral military training exercises with several Southeast Asian nations designed to enhance the interoperability of the respective sea services.
