A4W反应堆
A4W反应堆为美国海军设计尼米兹级核动力航空母舰用作发电及提供推力专用的核反应堆。
其中，A4W等几个字母与数字分别代表：
- A代表航空母舰（Aircraft carrier）
- 4代表由负责的合约承包商所设计之第四代核反应堆堆芯
- W代表合约承包商西屋公司（Westinghouse）
压水反应堆由贝蒂斯原子动力研究所（Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory）和诺尔原子能实验室（Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory）共同设计[1]，西屋公司制造。核反应堆燃料棒预计可使用20年。[1] 唯一使用此反应堆的军舰是尼米兹级超级航空母舰。每艘航母有两个反应堆，每个反应堆热功率为550百万瓦，可产生100百万瓦电力，每个蒸汽锅炉可产生140,000轴马力（104百万瓦），作为螺旋桨的推力来源。[2]
