2021年克马德克群岛地震是在2021年3月5日发生于新西兰克马德克群岛的地震。地震强度为8.1矩震级。震央位于克马德克群岛的拉乌尔岛以南。[1]其中有前震为7.4级[2] ，有余震为6.1级。[3]
地震
[编辑]这次的大型逆冲区地震由于反向断层而沿隐没带发生。美国地质调查局估计破裂区范围长175公里，宽75公里。[1]前震发生在主震发生前的不到两个小时。[2]在主震发生前大约6个小时，北岛亦发生了7.3级地震[4]，但其被认为与此地震无关。[1][3]
海啸
[编辑]地震发生后，太平洋地区各地都发出了海啸警告，新西兰北岛则已受到海啸的威胁。[5]数千名新西兰居民需要到高地暂避。[6]到目前为止，根据GeoNet测得的数据，在东角的海啸高度为大约35—40厘米（14—16英寸），在大堡礁岛的海啸高度则为15—20厘米（5.9—7.9英寸）。[7]
