省选结果显示，福特领导的安大略省进步保守党赢得了省议会124个席位中的76个击败了自2003年起执政的自由党政府，并组成了多数政府。贺华丝领导的安大略新民主党成为了官方反对党。 由现任省长凯瑟琳·韦恩领导的安大略自由党失去了官方政党地位，创下了该党161年历史上最差的成绩，也是安大略省任何现任执政党中最差的成绩。 安大略绿党历史上首次赢得一个席位。
