在该闭幕式中，会旗将交由2022年冬季奥林匹克运动会的中国北京市长陈吉宁。
2022年冬季奥运会表演
曾执导过2008年北京奥运开幕式和闭幕式的张艺谋将担任此次表演的总导演[2]。 北京八分钟表演将有中国新四大发明（共享单车、移动支付、网络购物和高铁）的元素，并且将诸多的微信头像变身成北京冬奥会会徽。表演者以两只熊猫滑冰选手和人组成红线形的龙，中国领导人习近平代表中国人民以影片方式表示欢迎。
