1889年新加坡市政委员会选举（英语：1889 Singapore Municipal Commission election）在1889年6月29日和1889年12月6日举行。[1]
背景
《市政条例》于1887年通过，该条例创建了一个部分由选举产生的市政委员会，该委员会负责监督新加坡的地方城市事务。[1][2]
参选市政委员会选举的候选人需要在新加坡五个选区之一的注册选民中获取一位提名人和一位推荐人的支持。[1]一旦候选人被提名，就会安排投票日期。[1]选举制度没有为候选人提供政党隶属，但市政委员通常会隶属于种族或行业协会。[1]
候选人需要获得至少20票才能当选为市政委员。[1]未能获得所需20票的唯一候选人可由海峡殖民地总督任命为市政委员。[1]
如果有两个或更多候选人在一个选区竞选，选民将选择其中一位候选人。[1]
如果在一个选区中没有任何提名，总督可以任命某人代表该选区。[1]
