黎巴嫩教育
在黎巴嫩，英语（或法语）以及阿拉伯语在基础教育阶段起即是教学语言。英语或法语是所有类型学校数学以及自然科学科的强制教学语言。[1] 黎巴嫩实行6岁至14岁的9年义务教育。[2] 根据2013年世界经济论坛的一份报告，黎巴嫩的综合教育水平排名全球第十，其中，数学以及自然科学科则排名为第四。 [3] 但这份调查报告仅仅是基于世界经济论坛各国领导人根据其国内的教育系统所提出的主观意见调查。 而在OECD发起的有史以来全球之大的学校排名中，黎巴嫩在数学与自然科学方面则仅排位第58名。[4][5]
黎巴嫩2014年的成人识字率为93% ，在联合国的人类发展指数中排名第65。在MENA（中东北非）中，落后于以色列、卡塔尔（96.3%）、巴林（94.6%），但是高于利比亚（89.5%）、沙特阿拉伯（87.2%）以及阿曼（86.9%） 。[6] 黎巴嫩国内25岁以上国民中，拥有中学以上学历的比例为54.2%，而女性则只为38.8%[7]
值得注意的是，黎巴嫩三分之二的学生入读私立学校。2015年4月，该国教育部部长 Elias Bou Saab承认，黎巴嫩国内教育体系内部有着较大差异，尤其是公立学校内。黎巴嫩法律规定国家教育大纲应该4年更新一次，但是实际上该国自从2000年后便无更新过教学大纲。另外，由于国内对黎巴嫩现代史存在较大分歧，历史科课文只讲解1943年之前的历史。
