雅各与天使摔跤
雅各与天使摔跤是《圣经·创世纪》（32：22-32）中的一个故事，描述的是雅各在返回迦南时于雅博渡口与天使摔跤的事情。原文记述为“只剩下雅各一人。有一人来和他摔跤，直到黎明。那人见自己胜不过他，就将他的大腿窝摸了一把，雅各的大腿窝正在摔跤的时候就扭了” 、“你的名不要再叫雅各，要叫以色列；因为你与神与人较力，都得了胜”、“我面对面见了神，我的性命仍得保全”。《何西阿书》中何西阿也提及此事：“他在腹中抓住哥哥的脚跟，壮年的时候与神较力。与天使较力并且得胜”。因此“有一人”中的人指的可能不仅是天使，也可能是耶和华，故这段情节又称“雅各与神摔跤”[1]。
实际上“人”的身份至今是学者们辩论不休的一个问题[2]，除去天使和神外，他还可能是耶稣、先知、河神或只是雅各梦中的人物[3]。这一场景在各类艺术和文学作品中也有反复出现。
艺术
[编辑]以这个故事为主题的最早的插画出现于手抄本维也纳创世纪中[4]，后世很多艺术家也曾以此为主题进行创作[5]。
