阴性书写

阴性书写(Écriture féminine)是一源自法国的女性主义文学理论[1]

此名词首先为爱莲·西苏(Hélène Cixous) 于〈梅杜莎的嘲笑〉(The Laugh of the Medusa)(1975)中所用,她主张女性必须书写自己。而修华特(Elaine Showalter)进一步定义此为语言及文字中对女性身体及女性差异的刻写[2]

阴性书写将经验置于语言之前,并提倡非线性、循环性的写作,以回避维持阳具中心的系统的论述方式。由于语言并非中立的中介,故有质疑它是表达父权的工具。阴性书写就能是男性书写的对立,或让女性逃出此定局的方式。对于西苏而言,阴性书写并非只向女性作家开放,她相信它可以,并曾经被男性作者所使用,如詹姆斯·乔伊斯。不过,由于西苏论及阴性书写的本质及起源时,常将与女性身体连上关系,故亦有指男性作者有机会作阴性书写的想法,难以与她本人对阴性书写的定义相容。

阴性书写于法国及其他欧洲女性主义者中发展成熟,现时于英语为母语的学者中,已被承认为女性主义文学理论中的其中一门。爱莲·西苏、 莫尼克·维蒂格路思·伊瑞葛来(Luce Irigaray)及茱莉亚·克莉斯蒂娃(Julia Kristeva)是此运动的创始者,此外亦包括其他作家,而精神分析学于九十年代初期亦开始加入。而西苏、 莫尼克·维蒂格 、伊瑞葛来及克莉斯蒂娃四人有时会被统称为法国女性主义者,虽然 Mary Klages 指出应称她们为“后结构理论女性主义者英语Post-structural feminism
