陪葬品又称殉葬品、冥器、明器，通常人死后亲属会将死者生前惯用的物品或藏品与死者一同埋葬，为殉葬品的基本由来。社会阶级产生后，帝王、富人或贵族则根据其富裕程度或位阶的大小而拥有大小规模不等的陪葬品，如金银晶玉等礼器、珠宝、珍珠、钻石、翡翠、玛瑙、漆竹木牙骨、鹤顶红、铜器及陶瓷所制之饰品、器具、马车、兵器、著名文物、书画等，有时还伴随着人、畜的牺牲品。
