门罗堡
门罗堡（英语：Fort Monroe）位于美国的弗吉尼亚半岛的老波因特康弗特,附近是汉普顿锚地和切塞皮克湾的河口。 1634年,门罗堡成为了伊丽莎白河郡的一部分,1643年和伊丽莎白河郡形成伊丽莎白市县。
门罗堡是美国内战有非常重要地位。1860年12月20日,南卡罗莱那州第一个脱离联邦。四个月以后,1861年4月12日,查尔斯顿 (南卡罗莱那州)(Charleston)的萨姆特堡引爆美国内战。五天以后,弗吉尼亚成了第八个脱离联邦的州。
1861年5月27日,联邦攻占了门罗堡,使门罗堡获得"自由之堡"的绰号,因为任何一名奴隶到达门罗堡就会是自由的。
在汉普顿锚地海战时,联邦以门罗堡为基地,使他们有足够的军人援助他们。
