银鲫（学名：Carassius gibelio）曾经隶属于鲫鱼的亚种（Carassius auratus gibelio）[1]。在鲤科中体型中等，一般不超过3千克（6.6英磅），成年个体长度在10—35厘米（3.9—13.8英寸）之间。通常体色为银色，故而得名，但实际也有其他颜色的种类。银鲫是杂食动物，分布于欧洲、北美和亚洲的流动缓慢的河流和湖泊中。[2][3][4]
银鲫与黑鲫十分相似，但是银鲫的鱼鳞更大，体侧线上一般有27—32枚鳞片，而黑鲫则为31—35片；银鲫的尾鳍分叉也更大一些。[5]
