金衡制是一种通常使用在黑火药宝石质量单位系统。

历史

金衡制系统来自质量计量的金衡制系统。名字来源还要回溯到威廉一世时代法国特鲁瓦,在中世纪时期,特鲁瓦是重要贸易城市。

金衡制盎司的重量相当于480格令。比一个常衡盎司(437.5格令)重一些。1格令等于64.79890毫克,那么1金衡制盎司等于31.1034768克。金衡制盎司是唯一用在贵金属计价的单位,如金,银,铂等,也是唯一的还在使用的金衡制单位。金衡制重量,12盎司等于1磅,而不是常衡系统中的16盎司为1磅。金衡制盎司简写为OZT

1金衡制的重量相当于5760格令,12金衡盎司,373.24克。常衡为7000格令,453.59克。

金衡两

香港贵金属买卖现仍使用与中国传统有关之金衡,换算为1金衡两=37.429克[1],较菜市场使用之“两”略轻。

和英国铸币系统的关系

金衡制是十进制系统前时代英国铸币单位的基础,由国王亨利二世提出。1便士逐渐成为白银的1本尼维特。12便士被设定为1先令。1金衡盎司为20个便士,1金衡磅为12个金衡盎司或20先令。
