台茶12号，别名金萱、27仔，由台湾茶叶改良场于1981年培育出的茶树品种。试验代号- 2027，父系为“硬枝红心”+母系为“台农8号”之杂交后育种而成，茶业改良场成功育种的排列顺序第12号。适制“包种茶”、“乌龙茶”、“红茶”等，属中生种。金萱的采收量比青心大冇和青心乌龙高20%~50% 。“金萱”是吴振铎祖母的名字。
特性
树型横张型，叶型椭圆形，叶子肥厚、鲜嫩，茶叶色泽翠绿富光泽，芽绿中带紫、茸毛，芽密度高，高量产，采摘期长，抗枝枯病。金萱茶有奶香味，同时又有花香味，奶香味以奶糖香为最佳，除了奶香味外，金萱茶丝绸般滑顺的口感，让整体茶滋味更具有牛奶香。[1]
主要产地
主要产地在南投及嘉义，种植面积在稳定的增加中。由于树势强健，环境适应力强，产量高，因此全国各茶区均有种。
