邹晶梅(英语:Jingmai Kathleen O'Connor,1983年8月26日)是一名华裔美国古生物学家,在菲尔德博物馆担任馆长[2][3][1]

早年生活和教育

邹晶梅来自加州帕萨迪纳[3],母亲是一名地质学家[4]。邹晶梅说虽然她小时候不喜欢恐龙,但在母亲的地质野外工作中,她开始对这门学科产生兴趣[4]。她解释说:“我喜欢和她一起去野外,收集岩石、矿物和化石,在实验室里玩耍。”[5]

邹晶梅毕业于西方学院地质学专业,师从唐纳德·普罗瑟罗英语Donald Prothero[2]。学生时代,她曾在洛杉矶县自然历史博物馆古生物部担任志愿者,与王晓鸣一起工作[2]。2009年,她于南加州大学获得博士学位,师从路易斯·M·恰佩英语Luis M. Chiappe和大卫·博特杰(David Bottjer)研究古代鸟类[2]

职业生涯

获得博士学位后,邹晶梅来到北京,在中国科学院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所担任博士后研究员[2]。在与周忠和的合作中,她晋升为正教授,同时继续她的古鸟研究[2]。邹晶梅有一半的中国血统,她说自己“非常非常自豪,对中国文化非常着迷”,并认为到中国从事古生物学研究非常有意义[4]

2011年,邹晶梅以格雷格·格拉芬英语Greg Graffin的名字命名了一种白垩纪鸟类祁连鸟属,即格拉芬祁连鸟(Qiliania graffini[3]。格拉芬是庞克乐团邪教合唱团的主唱,也是演化生物学教授[6]

在研究所工作期间,邹晶梅所在的团队发现保存在缅甸琥珀英语Burmese amber中的非同寻常的反鸟类遗骸。这些沉积物可追溯到9,900万年前,是中生代恐龙遗骸中保存最完好的。研究团队发现了长满羽毛的翅膀、脚,甚至整只幼鸟[7][8][9]。作为第一作者,邹晶梅与研究小组一起发表的研究结果表明,反鸟类拥有完全现代的羽毛,并澄清了几个物种的羽毛排列和肌肉组织[7][10]

2019年,邹晶梅被古生物学会英语Paleontological Society授予查尔斯·舒彻特奖英语Charles Schuchert Award。该奖项每年颁发给40岁以下、在古生物学领域做出卓越贡献的人士[11]

2020年,邹晶梅回到美国,成为芝加哥菲尔德博物馆爬虫类化石副馆长[2]。她继续发表论文,并 2021年与人合作撰写了一篇关于在渤海鸟胃中发现石英晶体的论文[5]。她也在菲尔德博物馆的收藏中进行研究,研究霸王龙下颚上的神秘孔洞[12]。她还协助博物馆获得已知的第十三件始祖鸟标本(2024年公布),并将对其进行进一步研究[13][14]
