达尔文拱门（西班牙语：Arco de Darwin）是位于厄瓜多尔加拉帕戈斯群岛达尔文岛东南约1公里的礁石上的一座天然拱，其位在一个形状不规则且被海水淹没的岩石平台上，又被称为剧院。[1][2]拱顶岩石结构因自然侵蚀和重力作用而于2021年5月17日坍塌，仅存两侧的海蚀柱仍矗立。[3][4]
达尔文拱门及其附近的达尔文岛是以英国自然学家查尔斯·达尔文之名命名，他对周围地区的研究帮助其透过自然选择的现象完成进化论。为了向达尔文及其成果致敬，坍塌后剩下的两柱被称为“演化之柱”。[5]
地理
[编辑]达尔文岛是厄瓜多尔加拉帕戈斯群岛中的一座小型无人岛，总面积为2.33平方千米（0.90平方哩），海拔高度168米（551呎）。达尔文拱门位于该岛东南方约1千米（0.62哩）处，因侵蚀作用导致外观呈桥梁状。[6]拱门靠海的一侧有一18米（59呎）高的平台。[7]拱门本身高43米（141呎），长70米（230呎），宽23米（75呎）。[8][9]
动物群
[编辑]达尔文拱门南方海域会出没多种海洋生物，包括红肉丫髻鲛、蝠𫚉、黑眼鲹、狐鲣、黄鳍鲔鱼、海豚和其他多种远洋鱼类等，以及长达14米（45呎）的鲸鲨，自每年7月初开始出现。[1][2]其他物种则包括镰鱼、直翅真鲨、鲼、绿蠵龟、玳瑁、镰状真鲨、远洋白鳍鲨和梭子鱼等。[7][10]另外该处的许多鸟类属地方性，常见物种包括在达尔文岛上繁殖的乌领燕鸥。[1]
旅游
[编辑]达尔文拱门受到摄影师和游轮观光欢迎[11]，周围丰富的海洋生物亦使其成为热门的休闲水肺潜水地点。[12]与达尔文岛相同，游客被禁止登上达尔文拱门。[11][13]加拉帕戈斯群岛（科隆群岛）及其周边区域于1978年被联合国教科文组织列入世界自然遗产。[12][14]
坍塌
[编辑]2021年5月17日，加拉帕戈斯时间（UTC-6）上午11时20分[3]，达尔文拱门的拱顶结构因自然侵蚀而坍塌，厄瓜多尔环境和水资源部于推特推文表示“这次的事件是因自然侵蚀所导致”“达尔文拱门由天然岩石构成，曾是达尔文岛的一部分，该岛并未对外开放”。[15]豪华船宿游艇加拉帕戈斯侵略者三号（Galapagos Aggressor III）的潜水员目睹了坍塌过程。[3]
拱顶坍塌后，剩下的海蚀柱被当地的旅游、潜水业人士称为“演化之柱”（西班牙语：Los Pilares de la Evolución）[5][16]，此一昵称意指拱门与附近的岛屿是以英国地质学、生物学家查尔斯·达尔文之名命名，他对周围群岛野生动物进行研究，促成了进化论（以自然选择的方式）的诞生。[5]
