生平
专精博古，诸子百家，穷微抉奥，不以涉猎为工。万历二十二年（1594年）甲午科顺天乡试第十三名举人，万历二十三年（1595年）乙未科进士[1][2]。授行人，擢吏部主事，屹然不可干以私。归逾年，起员外，会内计，中旨留一二言官，上疏极谏，语侵柄臣，神宗震怒，旋削籍，与刘元珍、庞时雍同日出都门，一时仰其直节。里中利病，侃侃持议，为乡邦倚重。
