货币替代（Currency substitution）是指停止使用本国货币，改用外国货币的行为[1]。货币替代可以是全部替代，也可能是部分替代。一般货币替代发生在严重经济危机之后，如厄瓜多尔和津巴布韦。一些规模非常小的经济体难以维持独自货币，因此使用其邻国的货币，如列支敦士登使用瑞士法郎。
