变声是指人类在青春期所发生的一种生理变化，时间多是12∼16岁左右的青少年。男性约在12∼16岁；女性约在13∼15岁，也有可能延到十六岁左右。 成年后声音基本上不太会改变。

变声期时声带会发生变化。男和女性喉咙变大，声带变宽、变厚（振动频率减少），声音因此变得低沉。男性变化较大，声音差别比较明显。

特征

变声期主要特征是会出现：声音嘶哑、声音沙哑、音域狭窄、发音疲劳、局部充血水肿、分泌物增多。症状大多维持六个月至一年。

变声期间保养

不宜食用辛辣食物，以及吸烟喝酒等。建议放低音量，不要吼叫。
