Grylloplattidae | |
蛩蠊，是蛩蠊科（Grylloblattidae）的无翅昆虫。它们生活在高山上的寒冷地区，并不能在20℃以上的环境中生存。其外观令发现的科学家感到疑惑。第一个被命名的物种北美蛩蠊 ( Grylloblatta campodeiformis ) ，其学名意即“像双尾虫的蟋蟀蟑螂”。它们大多是夜间活动的，并以碎屑为食物。它们有长的触角及尾须，但没有翅膀。其最近亲是螳䗛目[2]。

生活史
成虫的交尾时间可持续4小时，交尾后雌虫要等待数月才会产卵，并将卵产在腐木、苔癣、石缝或土壤中。若虫期长达5年以上，期间须蜕皮9次[5]。
