蛇蛉是蛇蛉目（学名：Raphidioptera）昆虫的通称，隶属于脉翅总目（Neuropterida），有时也作为脉翅目（Neuroptera）中的一个亚目。蛇蛉是一类原始的完全变态昆虫，目前发现现存2个科260余种。
特征
蛇蛉成虫身体细长，一般呈褐色或黑色，头部长，后部缢缩呈三角形，触角长呈丝状；前胸极度延长，呈颈状；中、后胸短宽；翅脉网状，具翅痣。[1]
