萨尔瓦多医院（西班牙语：Hospital El Salvador）是位于萨尔瓦多首都圣萨尔瓦多的大型医院，亦是拉丁美洲最大的医疗机构，建于2020年3－6月，由原国际会展中心改建而成，用以应对萨尔瓦多的2019冠状病毒疾病疫情，该院专门收治感染2019冠状病毒疾病的患者。萨尔瓦多医院原先仅计划临时性兴建，但其于2020年6月宣布将成为永久性医院，该院在兴建的第一期工程引进了400张病床，而病床总数原预计在第三期工程完工后增加到2,000张，惟三期工程竣工后成为疫苗接种设施而未被作为医院使用。
疫情趋缓后，萨尔瓦多医院将新建一座医学研究所，并设有卫生部办公室。
历史
兴建及改造
2020年3月14日，萨尔瓦多总统纳伊布·布克尔宣布将在该国的国际会展中心内建造一座临时医院[2]，当时萨尔瓦多境内还未通报任何2019冠状病毒疾病病例，但布克尔预测该国的医疗体系很可能在疫情爆发后“崩溃”（collapse）。[3]萨尔瓦多审计法院于同年4月建议将新医院建设成永久医院，法院院长则提议将原来的国际会展中心移至他处。[4]医院施工期间，施工人员被分配成三个工作班次以加快工程进度。[5]2020年5月，萨尔瓦多公共工程和运输部的两名工人对病毒的检测呈现阳性，兴建工程因而暂停。[6]
2020年6月22日，总统纳伊布·布克尔为医院主持了第一期工程的落成典礼[1]，同时宣布医院因投资钜额而将成为永久改建[7]，并将其命名为“萨尔瓦多医院”，医院在隔日正式启用。[8]落成典礼不对外向记者开放，政府官员亦多次拒绝摄影师进入典礼现场。[9]整座医院耗资7,500万美元，其中2,500万美元用于改建国际会展中心（第一期工程）[10]，占地36,000平方米（390,000平方英尺），设有血库、停尸间和患者监控中心等设施[10]，萨尔瓦多政府也在开院同时开始招聘医疗及行政人员。[11]在2019冠状病毒疾病疫情爆发前，萨尔瓦多全国有30张加护病床（ICU），而萨尔瓦多医院第一期工程完成后将增加至157张。[12]
萨尔瓦多大学于医院落成后发布了一份新闻稿，呼吁萨尔瓦多医院最终转型为该大学的医学院。[13]而会计法院留意到自医院启用后，萨尔瓦多卫生部都未曾允许审计人员和记者进入停尸间等重要区域以检查改建后的会展中心是否具备医院必要的基础设备。[14]2021年3月，萨尔瓦多审计法院指出医院的施工过程存在63处异常，包括缺乏污水处理设施等。[15]
最后阶段的第三期工程由于需兴建全新的建筑，因此于2020年10月的工程进较为缓慢，比计划的时间延迟了2个月，该国政府预计第三期建筑将于2021年1月投入使用。[16]直至2021年3[17]、4月初时该国公共工程和运输部长宣称已完工，惟仍有工人进出医院。[18]第三期建筑最终于同年4月13日启用，用于大规模接种疫苗。[19]
疫情趋缓
由于2019冠状病毒疾病疫情感染病例逐渐减少，医护人员于2022年4、5月自萨尔瓦多医院调往其他医疗机构。[20]同年4月，萨尔瓦多政府提议将该医院改建为专责处理复杂病例的专业医院，卫生部工会则批评该医院的未来规划缺乏透明度和明确性。[21]2022年8月，2019冠状病毒疾病疫苗接种中心关闭。[22]截至2023年5月，卫生部部长弗朗西斯科·阿拉比（Francisco Alabi）报告称院内已经没有2019冠状病毒疾病的住院患者。[23]
卫生部的其他职能部门依序迁入医院大楼，包括该部的技术团队办公室。[22]2022年9月，萨尔瓦多政府宣布在医院成立医学研究所。[24]
设备
萨尔瓦多医院的第一期工程完工后有400张病床，其中包括105张加护病床和295普通病床，医院计划在第三期工程完工后将病床数增加至2,000[10]，其中包含1,083张加护病床。[1][25]第二和第三期工程预计原于2020年8月完工，但三期工程因招标问题而延误2个月[7][26]，其将在原国际会展中心停车场兴建一座三层楼建筑。[27]
萨尔瓦多境内所有在其他医院治疗的2019冠状病毒疾病病例均会被转院至萨尔瓦多医院，以舒缓该国的医疗卫生体系。[1]但萨尔瓦多医学界协会（Colegio Médico Milton Brizuela）2020年7月的一份报告显示，萨尔瓦多医院仅使用了其25％的容纳空间。[28]协会主席于同年12月进一步警告，由于医院的三期工程尚未完工，而院内已住满冠状病毒病患者，医疗系统具有崩溃风险。[29]
争议
2020年12月发表于医学期刊《柳叶刀》的文章针对萨尔瓦多医院作出介绍，但独立资讯网站《放大镜下看健康》（Salud con Lupa）揭露文章的意见内容是由萨尔瓦多政府出资撰写。[30]2021年4月，一封致《柳叶刀》的公开信表明对医院设计上的质疑。[31]
2021年11月，医院的建筑师乔纳森·蒙松（Jonathan Monzón）被发现未取得其建筑学士学位。[32]
