萨尔瓦多国徽为圆形。中间为等边三角形，自上而下绘有彩虹、被自由之竿撑起的自由之帽（周围有光芒并写有该国独立的日子1821年9月15日）、五座火山和太平洋。外面有五面国旗，并环以月桂枝条（十四对叶子代表了十四个省）。绶带书有国家格言“上帝、团结、自由”。最外面以金色字书有“中美洲萨尔瓦多共和国”的字样，说明了萨国曾经是中美洲联邦的成员。
