蒙氏绯鲤为辐鳍鱼纲鲈形目鲈亚目须鲷科的其中一种，分布中西太平洋的珊瑚海海域，栖息深度60-71米，本鱼身体淡红色背面，白色与粉红色斑点的侧面和腹部有黄色条纹，触须淡黄色，第一背鳍上具暗斑，背鳍硬棘8枚;背鳍软条9枚;臀鳍硬棘1枚;臀鳍软条8枚，体长可达9.5公分，为底栖性鱼类，属肉食性。
