莎丽·海明斯
莎丽·海明斯（英语：Sally Hemings，1773年—1835年），是美国总统托马斯·杰斐逊所拥有的非裔奴隶和情妇，亦是杰斐逊原配玛莎·杰斐逊的同父异母妹妹。历史学家普遍认为杰斐逊与莎丽·海明斯存在长时间的性关系，而杰斐逊亦是她6名孩子的父亲[1]。
早年生活
莎丽·海明斯的父亲约翰·韦尔斯是位白人地主，其母亲贝蒂·海明斯一出世已经是奴隶。她的外祖母帕台尼娜为100％非裔血统，外祖父约翰·海明斯则是英国裔的船长[2]。约翰·海明斯曾经尝试为帕台尼娜及贝蒂赎身，但遭到当时的地主所拒绝[2]。在地主过世之后，其女儿继承了帕台尼娜及贝蒂的拥有权，直到她嫁给韦尔斯。韦尔斯视贝蒂为妾侍，二人生了6个孩子，莎丽是最小的一个[3][4]。韦尔斯死后，其女儿玛莎及女婿托马斯·杰斐逊继承了莎丽（当时还是襁褓中的婴儿）和另外百多名奴隶及11,000英亩（4,500公顷）土地的拥有权[5][6]。及后，莎丽被带到杰斐逊在蒙蒂塞洛的家中工作[5]。
