尼德兰人[8][9]（荷兰语：ⓘ），汉语习惯称为荷兰人，是荷兰的主体民族，也是日耳曼人的一支。[10][11]荷兰人拥有自己的文化，并且以荷兰语作为母语。荷兰人与他们的移民后裔广泛地散居于世界的各个角落，尤其在苏里南、古拉索、巴西、加拿大、澳大利亚、南非、新西兰和美国成为了令人注目的一支少数族群。
在中世纪时，低地国分布于法兰西与神圣罗马帝国边界地带；到了13世纪时，实际上已几乎自治。[12]在哈布斯堡王朝的统治下，荷兰逐渐被建构成为一个统一的行政单位。到了16世纪及17世纪，北荷兰脱离西班牙而独立，并建立了荷兰共和国。[13]相对于其他地区，荷兰的城市化脚步因而来得较为提早。[14]共和国时期是荷兰人向欧洲之外大量移民的第一次浪潮。
尽管荷兰的国土并没有十分广阔，人口也没有很多，但荷兰人却留下了极大的历史遗产。荷兰人被视为资本主义的先驱者，而他们对西方列强的现代经济、世俗主义以及自由市场等方面有着重大的影响力；尤其是对大英帝国、十三殖民地以及后来建立的美国。
荷兰人的传统艺术与文化包含了传统音乐、舞蹈、建筑风格及服饰等许多种类，而许多也都是世界闻名的。在国际上，对林布兰、扬·维梅尔和文森·梵高等荷兰知名画家普遍都有着极高的评价。至于荷兰人传统的主流宗教信仰则是基督宗教（包含天主教及新教喀尔文派）。此外，有显著比例的荷兰人是人本主义、不可知论、无神论或个人主义的追随者。[15][16]
名称
尼德兰是欧洲最早的民族国家之一，他们自称为尼德兰人（荷兰语：Nederlanders）。
英语中，称之为Dutch。这个单字源自德意志（Deutsch）这个单字，最早来自拉丁语：Theodiscus，本义为部落的，或人民的。在英语传统中，称呼尼德兰人为Dutch，德国人为German，他们同属于日耳曼民族。英国人常消遣荷兰人作风小气，不喜欢请客，英文中用“GO DUTCH”表示聚餐“账单平分制”。
中文所说的荷兰人，源自荷兰语：Hollanders，在尼德兰国内，为荷兰地区居民的自称，也就是北荷兰省与南荷兰省的居民。荷兰常被用来作为尼德兰国整体的代称，因为历史因素，在汉语中承袭了这个非正式称呼，用作这个国家的正式称呼。因此在汉语中，往往用荷兰人来代指尼德兰人整体，但在技术上，这种使用方法是错误的。

大荷兰（荷兰语：Groot-Nederland）是一个术语，用来描述部分或全部低地国家，某些政治团体渴望把这些低地国家统一成一个单一政体。
大荷兰主义（Grootneerlandisme）则是一个术语，用来描述这种政治上的渴望。
一个方案包括荷兰和法兰德斯的统一或再统一，组成一个可能的单一制国家，一个联邦，或一个同盟。因为这个方案将统一荷兰人，“Dietsland”这个术语被用于描述这种统一。它使用了“Diets”这个词，荷兰（Dutch）的古语。另一个方案，叫做“完整荷兰”（Heel-Nederland），要求把所有低地国家联合为一个单一实体，“众荷兰”。 还有另外一种形式是当代奥兰治主义，寻求在低地国家恢复荷兰皇族。

荷兰语是大多数的荷兰人所使用的母语，是拥有超过2200万的使用人口的一支西日耳曼语言。荷兰语大约形成于公元500年，并且拥有超过1500年的书面文历史。身为西日耳曼语言的一分子，荷兰语与同属该语支的菲士兰语、英语及德语有着紧密的关联。许多西日耳曼方言都经历过一系列的子音推移，如今日的菲士兰语及英语即经历了鼻音消失，而德语则历经了高地子音推移。然而，荷兰语并没有受这些声音变化的影响，因此在西日耳曼语支里有着中心的地位。

荷兰人早在美国建立之前便已长期居住于北美。[17]有很长的一段时间，荷兰移民居住在荷兰共和国统治下的殖民地里，而这些殖民地便是后来十三殖民地的一部分。尽管如此，许多荷兰社区依然保持着封闭的姿态，直到南北战争爆发，荷兰移民替北方政府而战，才逐渐融入美国社会。[18]荷兰移民也在后来的许多浪潮中被迅速地同化。历史上曾经出现过三位荷兰裔的美国总统，分别为第8任的马丁·范布伦、第26任的西奥多·罗斯福以及第32任的富兰克林·罗斯福等。
在加拿大，有超过923,310名加拿大人声称拥有全部或部分的荷兰血统。第一批定居于加拿大的荷兰移民是荷兰裔美国人中的一群联合帝国效忠者们。
