苏易简（958年—996年），字太简，梓州铜山（今中江县广福乡）人。[1]
苏颋之后。[2]高祖苏传素。[3]祖父苏寓。父亲苏协，举蜀进士。苏易简出生于周世宗显德五年（958年），少年聪颖好学，太平兴国五年（980年）庚辰科状元，宋太宗临轩覆试，苏易简凡三题，不起草，三千余言一就而成，宋太宗大为赞赏，擢为甲科第一，曰：“君臣千载遇”。遂以文章名扬天下。初任监丞通判、左赞善大夫、右拾遗知制造、秩祠部员外郎、翰林学士。担任翰林学士时，宋太宗曾夜间到学士院，苏易简睡中遽起，没有蜡烛可以着装，宫嫔从窗格外，引烛照亮，视为佳话。[4]淳化元年（990年），升为中书舍人。
苏易简是著名书法家，存世书迹有《家摹本兰亭》，与苏舜钦、苏舜元并称“铜山三苏”。素好酒，经常豪饮，太宗多次劝诫，并草书《诫酒》、《劝酒》二诗，但收效甚微。至道元年（995年）因嗜酒，被劾，罢为礼部侍郎，出知邓州，又移知陈州。至道二年（996年）十二月，因饮酒过度去世[5]。赠礼部尚书。著有《文房四谱》，《续翰林志》。
